PHIL HERMAN

Phil Herman, a Montrealer, has been photographing for 35 years. What started as a hobby, has become his life work since retiring from business in 1990. His earliest photographs were portrait studies in black and white, but he soon began to photograph in colour, with a passion for floral photography. Herman, has been creating his own personal world of soft form and strong colours into flowing abstraction, and hand prints each image to ensure the colour and texture. Landscape, Still life and Street photography is also a specialty of the artist. PERMANENT EXHIBITION AT ROYAL VICTORIA HOSPITAL, Montreal, Quebec. One hundred and fifty colour photographs of flowers are on permanent display in the Oncology Day Centre, the Hematology / Oncology Ward M-7 and the Transplant Unit of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, where Phil Herman is a volunteer with cancer patients since1991. He has exhibited in various galleries in Canada and the United States, and is represented by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Sales and Rental Gallery, and a contributor to Art for Healing Foundation. |
